All About Tennis Injuries
Playing tennis before you do any kind of warm up or conditioning, can lead to sporting injuries, and later on in health may create more serious health problems, if played for a long time repetitively. This hub gives information on how to protect yourself if you do play tennis regularly.
- I recommend wearing heel inserts, to avoid the shock of the court on your body.
- You should play on softer surfaces such as clay or grass.
- Make sure you have the right equipment for your body, so that you are not carrying a racket that’s too heavy for you, or shoes that are too tight, or loose.

Easy Treatments
If you do find yourself with a muscle sprain or other minor injury try to do one or more of the following.
- Put ice on the affected spot as soon as possible. This will help avoid inflammation later.
- Apply a solution or cream that contains magnesium and potassium in it. Many soothing sports rubs will contain this.
- Eat a banana. Yes. Eat two actually. Bananas contain a lot of potassium which is a key element that your body needs in order to heal sprains and get rid of lactic acid build up.
- Stretch. Unless it is extremely painful to walk or you are bleeding, walk it off. Do not just sit in one place. Walk slowly or stretch.
- Apply a heat patch
